17.01.16 – Port Lincoln, South Australia, Australia
Well……Port Lincoln……what a pleasant surprise. This town was not originally on our list of places to visit, but was clearly our highlight of the week. After not enjoying our time in Port Augusta we decided to head south and follow the coastline to Port Lincoln and we are glad we did. The ladies in the Information Centre were super helpful and recommended we go on an Aquaculture Tour.
Port Lincoln local, Peter from Triple Bay Charters, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the town and its produce. We learnt so much about the tuna industry, saw the sea lions and enjoyed a sashimi tasting with A Grade tuna. This was $80 each, but money well spent.
Visiting the National Park was another highlight. It is worth the drive to the end of the dirt road to the beautiful and secluded Cape Donington Beach. We voted this the whitest beach on our trip.
This is a lovely town with plenty to do; a two night stay was perfect!
