16.10.16 – Cycling through the vineyards, Blenheim, New Zealand

Blenheim is right on the door step of the Marlborough Wine Region. It is the home of the Sauvignon Blanc and hundreds of varieties of wine, generally white wine. There are around 100 different wineries scattered around the region.

During our stay here we wanted to sample some of the local products. So we hired bicycles for a day, from ‘Bike2Wine’, and set off around the local vineyards. The map and information we received was first class. It allowed us to stay off busy roads and see many wineries without cycling too far.

The bikes allowed us to travel around at our own pace, have a picnic and really absorb the beautiful region and all it has to offer! We visited both boutique and commercial wineries as well as a brewery!
